Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan's defense invincible by detonating nuclear warheads: Shehbaz Sharif
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has said that on May 28, 1998, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan s defense invincible by detonating six nuclear warheads.
Addressing a ceremony on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer through video link, Shehbaz Sharif said that the PML-N government gave new stability to the country on this day, a day which is unforgettable for all of us.
The PML-N president said that on that day we decided to live with our heads held high. The decision to carry out nuclear blasts will be remembered in the history of the country. We put our lives under threat to make the country a nuclear power.
On this occasion, he also slammed the present government and said that even though politics should not be done in this difficult time, the facts cannot be hidden. He said the country’s economy was already in tatters before the outbreak, now it has made matters even worse.
He alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan did nothing to unite the nation, it was time for him to lead and unite the nation. Everyone knows that Nawaz Sharif had turned down a huge economic package at the time of nuclear tests.
Shehbaz Sharif said that locusts have wreaked havoc in Sindh and South Punjab. Today we have to face all the dangers and must work together to fix the economy.
"Today we need unity, strong faith and organization," he said. Defense and livelihood go hand in hand and both must be strong. Today we must unite against the threat of the enemy, he added.
